A dream named after a daughter
Abesh began in Mirpur as a shared dream between two partners: Mr. Sumon, a self-made entrepreneur from a village background, and Md. Abul Hossain. The restaurant carries the name of Mr. Hossain’s only daughter, Abesh.
Through struggles and setbacks, the partners stayed true to fresh food, authentic spices and fair prices. Mr. Hossain’s son, Md. Naym, later joined to bring new energy. Today Abesh serves Dhaka from five branches, and local press has called it one of the city’s first homes of handi beef and handi mutton.
