Chondu Special Beef Bhuna
Half plate of 4–5 rich pieces, slow-cooked with onion, sour yoghurt, poppy-seed and nut paste.
৳180Forty years of slow-cooked, water-free beef bhuna, buttery alu bhorta and steaming rice. This is the highway’s most loved plate, and it’s still priced for everyone.
Our Story
In 1984, Abdur Razzaq, known to all as Chondu Mia, left his small Iqbal Hotel in Cumilla town and opened a roadside eatery at Paduar Bazar Bishwa Road. It’s widely remembered as the very first food stop on the Dhaka–Chattogram Highway.
The menu was simple: beef, alu bhorta, dal and rice, all for just ৳7. Today his son, Tofayel Ahmed, runs the restaurant with the same rule: honest food at honest prices. Chondu has never signed stop-over deals with bus companies. Guests come back because they want to.
“If our food wasn’t good, the name alone couldn’t have kept us going this long.”
— Tofayel Ahmed, owner
