Our review

Boudhanath's great white dome and gold tower, painted with the watchful eyes of the Buddha, rise above a ring of monasteries, shops and cafes. It is part of the Kathmandu Valley UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Pilgrims circle the stupa spinning prayer wheels, especially at dawn and dusk. It is about 30 minutes by taxi from Thamel and pairs well with a visit to nearby Pashupatinath.
