Hotel Overview
Burj Al Arab Jumeirah opened on 1 December 1999 on an artificial island about 280 metres off Jumeirah Beach, joined to the mainland by a private bridge. Its sail-shaped silhouette made it one of the most photographed hotels in the world.
Jumeirah closed the hotel on 15 April 2026 for an 18-month restoration led by the designer Tristan Auer. The gold leaf, Statuario marble and Swarovski crystal details are being kept, and the spa is being redesigned. Jumeirah expects guests to return in October 2027, though the exact date has not been fixed.
When it reopens, the hotel will again consist of 198 two-storey suites with butler service, the Al Muntaha restaurant near the top of the tower, and the Talise Spa with its infinity pools.
