Hotel Overview

Raffles opened in 1887 as a 10-room bungalow hotel facing the sea, grew into the colonial landmark on Beach Road and was declared a National Monument in 1987. A two-and-a-half-year restoration from 2017 brought it back on 1 August 2019 with more suites and refreshed restaurants, while keeping the white facade, verandas and garden courtyards.

All 115 rooms are suites, in nine categories, and every suite has a butler. Courtyard and Palm Court Suites look over the gardens; larger Personality Suites are named after famous guests, and the Grand Hotel and Presidential Suites are the biggest.

The Long Bar, where the Singapore Sling was created, is still the most popular stop in the hotel. Other venues include the Tiffin Room for North Indian curries, the Writers Bar, afternoon tea in the Grand Lobby and the Raffles Spa.
