Our review

Wat Arun sits on the west bank of the Chao Phraya, directly across from Wat Pho. Its central prang, the Khmer-style tower, is decorated with pieces of porcelain and seashell that catch the light, and you can climb the lower terraces for river views.

Visit in the late afternoon, then cross back and watch the temple light up from one of the riverside bars on the Tha Tien side.
